I have a new Xpro-F Trigger but there is no LED backlight in the display which makes it very difficult to see the settings.

The switch on the side is on and the light settings are set to 12s.

Am I missing something or is it a bug?

On the right side - nearest button to you?

I had the same issue for the longest time, I couldn't figure it out, was super frustrated with it so I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I opened up the trigger via the two small screws near the mount, and then carefully undid the plastic clips that held the two halves together (watch out for the cables that connect the top piece to the bottom). Then, I unplugged the wires connecting the screen to the main board and re plugged them back in.

Once I did that, the backlight turned on again. I'm guessing it might have been knocked loose at some point.

I had the same issue, I sent mine back & it was replaced no problem :)

The most perfect, simple, and helpful solution in the whole Internet. I knew it worked because it came on a time or two but would be so aggravating when I needed it most. This solution fixed it in minutes. Thank you.

Hey Norbert. Thanks very much for your post re. backlight not working. I discovered mine wasn't - when I needed it most! So, I removed the batteries from the Xpro-F, undid the 2 small (cross-head) screws and carefully opened up the 2 halves - keeping the 2 wires between them connected. I removed the smaller wire from the 'board and refitted it.

Then put the 2 halves back together again (replacing the plastic USB-C cover was the trickiest bit!). Once the batteries were refitted, the backlight began working (12 secs).

No idea why replacing the wire connector fixed the problem - but I'm glad it did and, again, must thank Norbert for his advice.

Hi NorberTsiPhotography

Thanks for the tips. I was having the same problems. I did as you've instructed and the backlight came back. As the user mentioned above, I didn't bother to undid the plastic clips that held the two halves together, I simply just unplugged the wire that connects the screen to the main board and replugged it back and viola! It work again. Thank you so much. I'm really need this especially for the fact that my 2nd Xpro ii trigger is coming and I don't want both to suffer the same problems which will drive me nuts if I have to send them both back to godox just to fix something I can do it under 5 minutes. :-)

Hey! First thing I’d suggest is to check if your Xpro-F trigger has the latest firmware installed. Manufacturers often release updates that fix bugs — including issues with the backlight. If you haven’t updated it yet, definitely give that a try; it might solve the problem without much hassle. If your firmware is already up to date or the update doesn’t help, then we can look into other possibilities. Maybe someone else here has run into the same issue and can share some advice.
