have a look at their DG DN lensesIs there a Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG DN Lens for Sony FE?
What have you been expecting after you saw no Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG DN lens on the Sigma webpage and asking here?I did and I was surprised to not see one there !
Sony has by far the most attention to lens selection compare to any other MILC manufacturer - get news for all of us!Not yet but Nikoshita has just confirmed today that the next lens from Sigma will be a 35mm f/1.4 DN ART
Sigma has a 35 1.4 for Sony E-mount, but it's an adapted version of their DSLR design. There seems to be a DG DN coming according to Nikoshita as mentioned above. That's a great question. Because when I google "sigma f1.4 35mm sony" then several lens show up. So I thought there is an error somewhere or something and came here for clarity. I should have mentioned this in my original post.

Will be fun seeing whether the new contender brings a completely different approach and whether Sigma will work on size and weight too?
I'm really surprised that they are putting out a 35/1.4 after having just released the 35/2 and recently the 35/1.2 - both quality lenses. Why not DG DN versions of their stellar - but too large - 28/1.4 and 40/1.4? That is a lot of 35 choices...Not yet but Nikoshita has just confirmed today that the next lens from Sigma will be a 35mm f/1.4 DN ART

Sigma is weird, no point in trying to predict, its not gonna make sense. My guess is it’s due to the fact they appeal to two different markets. The f/2 lens is more for people who want something small and light, the f/1.2 for ultimate IQ with no compromises and the f/1.4 can be the middle one that is smaller but still great IQ.I'm really surprised that they are putting out a 35/1.4 after having just released the 35/2 and recently the 35/1.2 - both quality lenses. I’m also thinking this may be the first DN lens on RF/Z mount too as neither has a 34mm f/1.4 so they’d make a lot of sales from that too.
That oughta be astounding considering how impressive the GM already is... So it'll be a GM with less breathing and less vignetting I guess?Sigma is weird, no point in trying to predict, its not gonna make sense. My guess is it’s due to the fact they appeal to two different markets. They made the 14-24 and 24-70 f2.8 and go make a weird 61mp video? camera totally ignoring the 70-200 f2.8, its not even gonna be difficult for them to beat the GM version given their lens making prowess.
Probably worse weather sealing, maybe sharper but most important metric here for me, its gonna be cheaper but the XD linear motors with improved lens design in recent GM and G glass, the difference in price might be less convincing. That oughta be astounding considering how impressive the GM already is... Some people still prefer the rendering of the 85/1.4 GM for instance, despite it's weight, price, or mechanical drawbacks. Much the same way I'd gladly take the 35/1.4 GM over the 35/1.2 DN... Ought to be interesting either way.
owning the GM 35 for more than 3 weeks now it is hard to believe that I'd buy any other fast 35 mm prime for an Alpha FF camera.Probably worse weather sealing, maybe sharper but most important metric here for me, its gonna be cheaper but the XD linear motors with improved lens design in recent GM and G glass, the difference in price might be less convincing. That oughta be astounding considering how impressive the GM already is... If weight is not an issue and minimal focus breathing is important, the Sigma. Just gotta keep in mind all lenses are compromises.Same with me the new GM is a masterpiece and I won’t be switching to the upcoming f1.4 Art no matter how good it is. Still very interested though to see how the it compares to the GM and f1.2 Art though.
