Interesting. With the Sony a6300, had to use cool white fluorescent white balance.
Thanks for sharing Richard!- Resulting images have a little post processing. WB adjusted for each using picker in most case. With this there is a resultant fairly wide range of adjustments. Typically getting around -50 tint. I also set HSL (Tone curve) Hue to -50 on orange. This brings oranges on the IR across to red. I maybe went a bit heavy on this and will do less in future. Overall, that's just two PP adjustments.
- Out of camera, It seems important to reduce the tint here as otherwise it's too red across the board and too much of the visible spectrum is pinkish hue. But it's easy to do on the LR sliders.
- These shots needed a range of WB temperatures. Im not surprised as I'd expect this anyway given they are taken in everything from deep woodland shadow to full sun.
- PP on these examples and the bigger batch of about 50 images took about 10 mins so it's to exactly time consuming
- Here in the UK, we are only just emerging into spring and we are only just getting new leaf growth. This can clearly be seen in a number of images with a dusting of red leaves being picked out and the evergreen's being far stronger than the light new growth. It even shows where apparently green grass isn't yet fully in growth.
- Overall, this filter is a keeper for me. I think I can do better on camera and post setup. I don't think its quite full Aerochrome look yet (Im not seeing visible red being shifted towards yellow much - seems to stay red) but it's way easier than the alternative post processing I've seen.
Please bear in mind that these are very initial attempts though!
