Ordered a K3 III in Canada

The local camera store added it to their ordering system and I placed my order. Yes it’s pricey $2500 CDN which is about $1000 more than I paid for my K3 in November of 2013 but if I also get 7 years of use out of it that’s about $360 a year which is less than I spend on film and chemistry.

Apparently the premium kit is an extra $400 CDN but I have mixed feelings about grips so just went with the black body.

where in Canada? All the major stores in Toronto- no listing for the new camera and no preordering on their websites. It's like...Pentax does not exist...again. But I can preorder a new Ilford $49 film camera on their websites!

Just call the stores and find out if their supplier has 'em. That's what I did.

In British Columbia, I called Kerrisdale Cameras on Thursday and they took my number they called me a half hour ago and said it was in their system now so I ordered. This isn’t exactly an impulse buy I’ve had the money set aside for years.

Not on any of the big three nationals in the US yet ( Adorama, Amazon, or B&H), and no local store.

Nice! Ya, I was also told (I'm in Canada as well) that there is no option for just a silver body either. Either get the premium kit or just go black. So I got black lol

Yup, exactly the same story for me.

Although I know I won't be getting it for a few weeks I feel like contacting them (Camera Canada) every other day asking "Is it here yet?" Nah, they might cancel my order ;-)

Same place lol. My next update I guess will the payment date when there's a ETA on arrival to the store. I want ZERO delays lol

I was told "Release date April 30th" so I am not sure if that is the day that they can order them, Ricoh/Pentax will ship them, or they can ship them if pre-ordered...

So are you 1st and I'm 2nd or is it the other way around ;-)

I think at that price Aussie buyers will just wait for the 10% or 15% CRK sales.

I love Pentax but at that price it should have had the flip screen as well. It's at a price point where it should have literally close to everything.

Anyway, it lets me bide my time until the next CRK sale!

Still looking forward to getting the K3 III though.

Maybe they deliver the countries in alphabetically order. In Austria a lot of shops have it on their list - in Germany I found only one shop who has listed it (at least yesterday).

And frustrating--still not up this morning (6 Apr). Though the notion that it won't actually ship to consumers until the end of the month anyway does lessen that.

Which is why I was able to order one in Canada but the US is waiting. Of course this makes the UK different, but then... ;-) (duck & hide).

Both Camera Canada and The Camera Store have the silver body listed, at the same price as the black body.

Both Camera Canada and The Camera Store have the silver body listed, at the same price as the black body.

I just checked after seeing your post. I'm contacting them to change my order. I was put off at first about the black shutter button, but, but... But, SILVER is so classic Pentax.
