3200 scanner compatability w/ OSX 10.3?

Has anyone with an 3200 scanner installed Jaguar? If so does it work ok? I was told that my 7600 printer would work ok even though there isn't a 10.3 driver yet, but the Epson scanner tech didn't know whether the 3200 would work.

I don't want to purchase 10.3 until I know all my peripherals are going to work.

Your comments would be most appreciated.

After installing Panther you need to open Image Capture and change the preferences to read USE TWAIN DEVICES WHENEVER.....and restart. If you don't do this the scanner won't be recognized by your image editor. Also if you are using Silverfast make sure you have installed the latest upgrade.

I thought the 3200 won't work with TWAIN under OS X, only with the plug-in. Indeed, Image Capture doesn't recognize it, AFAIK.

If you did get the 3200 to work with IC, with or without TWAIN, I would be very interested and thankful for your advice.

I think you misunderstood me. I have no idea whether the 3200 works with IC. IC is the source of problems the make Photoshop (for example) unable to see the scanner. Look in Library/Image Capture/devices. If there is a file "EpsonScanner" it needs to be removed and the computer restarted.
