Sigma 16 not fitting on A5100

Hey everyone,



I have several a5100 cameras. As part of my live stream set up, I wanted better lenses.



I purchased a Sigma 16 1.4 lens, because they reviewed so well.



When it showed up, I tried to connect it to the Sony camera and the Sigma doesn't appear to fit. The instruction manual says that it fits sony e-mount.



What am I missing here?

you need to check you bought the right version as that info sheet covers all versions , you need to check the barcode on the box and compare the serial number to make sure the lens matches the box also

barcode for e mount version is 00-85126-402655

Looks like m43.

sony e-mount = 10 contacts

CANON EF-M = 9 contacts

Bayonet looks very small, can only be micro 4/3 version...

Most likely someone sent it back and scammed the store or something.

Hopefully you purchased from a reliable dealer who will allow you to exchange lens for the correct item.

Of all the versions of the Sigma 16mm 1.4, only m4/3 has a smaller throat diameter than the Sony E. That's smaller, so it must be m43. (That's what it looks like to me.)

That suspiciously looks like a M4/3 mount instead of E mount. :-O

Attached is my Pana 25mm and Sony 55-210 for comparison.
