I want to use a digital picture frame as a "viewfinder" for my D810 for situations where I cannot get my head behind the camera. Can I use the HDMI port to pipe the view from the camera to the device? The device is a Dynex digital picture frame total dimension ~ 9"x6.5", screen size ~6"x 3.5"; accepts as input flash cards or usb. I would have to make a power source (dc 9v. - use batteries?); but my question is:

whether the HDMI output would resolve to the usb input of the device?

I do have the HDMI output cable that came with the camera.

Do HDMI to USB adapters/converters exist?

Thanks in advance for replies.

HDMI to USB adapters are available for about $10 on Amazon or you can buy a HDMI USB cable

Thank you. I was (sort of) aware that adapters existed to physically mate, but was unsure if the hdmi output data would be in a format legible to a device expecting usb, but I guess if the adapters exist they must work.
