In Santa Cruz again, I think I just feel what I'm doing in that town. Love it. And Classic Neg just fits what I'm trying to express for some reason.

2 nice X100V updates. One, my wife said for the first time, "I love that camera", which is amazing coming from someone who has never really cared about any camera that's not a phone. So that's cool. Also had it on in a store called "Stripe", which is a boutique clothing and homewares store, very hip and stylish, and one of the women who works there was excited to see it as she is an X100V owner. She's doing recipes off of Fuji X Weekly, and is loving Portra 400. Had a nice X100V chat with her.

Anyway, here are some snaps from my favorite camera and film sim.

Nice photos ! Is it classic negative straight out of the camera, or did you make any tweaks to it?

Thank you! No, I haven't really given up the crutch of pulling things onto my laptop and tweaking in Lightroom. I tend to lift shadows, drop highlights and whites pretty hard, and add in a bit of black. I don't add saturation or vibrance, and I may in some cases add clarity and a light vignette.

Most of that could be done in camera, but I am used to the control in Lightroom and use it for fine tuning. It's a good challenge for me in the future to try and tweak the jpg's in camera and see if I can get close. The jpg's are pretty good right now without any tweaks.

Thank you for clarifying. I’m trying my best to get it the way I like out of camera, but as you I almost always end up tweaking it in post. Just small adjustments, nothing fancy.

Fantastic photos! The colors are great, and I love the composition on the black plate 63’ Stingray shot.

I'm like you. I have a hard time not touching an image! LOL
And there are very subtle differences between some of the sims.
So by the time I make a few tweaks, I wonder why I bother with the film sim in the first place. ;)
