I'm new to DPREVIEW. I just purchased a Tamron 90mm macro for use on a Nikon D750. With the VC engaged it seems very noisy to me. My first thought was something was wrong and to return it. Images I have taken so far look good. Is this VC noise typical of this lens? Hoping someone has experience with this lens . Thanks.

Since it's very difficult to judge a lens' audible noise by forum text alone, I would suggest watching some reviews of the said lens on Youtube, etc, and see if their lenses have a similar level of noise.
I don't own the 90mm but I do own a couple Tamron VC lenses and there is a slight swirl noise when active. Its not quiet, but its not noisy enough to worry about.

My Tamron 70-300mm VC makes a fair bit of noise, but it's worked well for 6 years or so.
Macro lenses are more often used with a tripod, and in that case you might want to turnoff the VC.
