I’m getting the R6 but can not find the answer to these question. I am migrating from 5D cameras.

1. The eye/face AF looks amazing and is the main reason I want one. My question is.... if the camera picks out a face.... how do you change faces in the instance there is more than one person in the frame. Do you use the joystick?

2. The compressed raw files. I understand what they are and the very minimal difference in quality to full raw. The storage savings is obvious but what’s not clear is the handling of the files in post processing. What I would like to know is...... if these files are smaller, does that mean you would get a performance boost when post processing a lot of files in Lightroom. Or is the fact they are compressed negates the smaller file size...... what I mean is does Lightroom or whatever you happen use , does the software have to uncompress the files before they can be worked on. I hope that makes sense.

The 20mpx files really appeals to me as I have always felt the 30 mpx files of the 5d4 were just too big for general and event use. I often shot in medium raw just to speed up post processing when handling a lot of files.

Haven't used my R5 enough in that situation so I'll let others answer that one. I'm curious myself to know more about what technique people prefer.

It does, and you are correct - there is no performance boost, it is just saves you some storage space.

Yes use joystick left/right to move between eyes and faces (if only one face, you can still move between left and right eye). You need to be in face/eye af to do this though, for example if you set eye AF to a custom button and be in another focus mode then this won't work.

As another one has said, this only saves storage. Performance with both files seem to be identical.
