Canon dealers in SLC, Utah?

If anyone in this forum lives in Salt Lake City, could you kindly suggest a well-equipped Canon dealer in the downtown area...near the convention center, ideally? My search of the web has turned up nothing of substance.

I don't know of any dealers near the convention center (I presume you mean the Salt Palace)... I bought my S45 from Inkleys (Ritz) at about 2200 S. State. Wasatch Photo (on 3300 S) and Pictureline also carry Canon, and I have done business with both in the past. None of these are real discount dealers... but my experience is that their prices are pretty competitive with CompUSA, Best Buy, and other warehouse stores (and I think their slaes people are more likely to know what they are selling).

I just remembered that there use to be a Camera Den on State at about 2nd S.... don't know if it is still there, or if they carry Canon. Last time I was there (probably 10 years ago), they were getting more into consumer electronics and less into cameras... DLG

There are none downtown. Camera Den is more like Camera Dusty Closet Shelf. Pictureline is pretty close to downtown, but I stay away from there because they're a pack of overpriced snobs. Wasatch photo only carries Nikon. Your best bet is Inkley's on State and 22nd (approx), Comp USA at approx 4th West and 1900 South, or Best Buy at 3rd West and 21st South. You also might want to check Farr West Photo. It's a great little shop across the street to the West from Inkley's, but they have a limited selection.

If you go to Inkley's talk to Big Damian. He's the only one that seems to consistently know what he's talking about. And if he doesn't know what he's talking about, he'll say so, instead of pretending or making sh!t up. Good Luck.
