And, I agree with you. I always try to use my 24 TS first, and then the 17 if that doesn't work, because the 24 is just better, especially in the corners. I love my 17 TS, but I'm pretty sure that 90MP would put a strain on its resolution potential, also especially in the corners when using movements. Even with a mere 30MP, with moderate shift or even some tilt (I'm talking about the area in the sharp plane of focus), those corners need some hefty stopping down to look their best. So, tripling the MP would surely make that more apparent. It might be wishful thinking, but the Canon Rumors people say a R5s (maybe 90 megapixels) is being tested by photographers. I'm definitely interested, but I know my TS17 will show its limitations!
Even though I love my 17mm TS-E, I agree, we need really need to see a 17mm TS-R first. And, I agree with you. Yes, it should be viable, and surely someone will have a go - but that's unlikely to be Canon. And I'd guess it would have seriously niche appeal. Is it viable to build an effective TS EF to RF adapter? Let's say for an APS-C imaging circle. R5 in crop mode is still a practical tool
I would suggest if it had any appeal at all, someone would have tried to make one for EF to EF-M. After all, there are 24 and 30 megapixel sensors in EOS M cameras rather than the 7½ to 17 megapixels you get from cropped RF mount camera sensors. It would also be easier just to crop from full-frame if you weren't bothered about tilt.Yes, it should be viable, and surely someone will have a go - but that's unlikely to be Canon.
