I assume they exist. Any suggestions on where to purchase? Of course, the most for the least is always a primary consideration.
Also, how do they attach? Press fit? Don't see any threads.

Unless you're going to the Andes I wouldn't bother. It will increase the bulk of the camera quite a bit. Most of the reason for a UV lens on an SLR is to protect the lens.

I keep a Lensmate 52mm adapter and a UV filter on my G3. With the adapter I can also add a folding lens hood, UV filter, acessory lenses, etc. Yes, it adds some length to the lens, more like a "real camera".

Hi.i have a lensmate on my G2 and G5 but you might not like seeing the adapter through the optical view finder.it's not a problem on the G2 but it
sticks our futher on the G5.i use em both and have gotten used to it.
but i diden't like em at first.they do protect your lens.if you use the LCD
screen then there's no problem at all.Bob

Just a note...

Even the Andes wouldn't matter. CCD sensors are not UV sensitive. And FWIW, films made in the last 15 years or so aren't sensitive either.

Either that, or make space on your shelf for a box full of styrofoam peanuts (to use for shipping the cam back in for service), if the lens assembly gets doinked unexpectedly during use.
However, be prepared to add some bulk to your G3 and a new camera
bag. :-)

I have both the 52 and 58 and have to say that in most situations they take away more than they add. Sure they definately avoid contact with the stock lens and add alevel of safety, but they stick out a lot further.

They make it impossible to carry around without a bag, and forget using the built-in flash. For me it makes my all-around, use anytime camera less so.
