Moderate climate... it used to be freezing over in winter. But these turtles have grown quite large. 55-210 zoom.

Not entirely clean, the water. Can you guess the city?

I recently joined local photography club and last week I joined for the first time with a photography outing of the club to a beach nearby.

The sunset whas not that great, but stil I managed to capture some nice images. I tried to vary a bit with different subjects and different techniques: close-up details of patterns, wide views, playing with long shutter times, black&white...

here in NE Ohio, Monarchs, Painted Ladies, and other butterflies have been hard to find this year, not sure why, perhaps the drought, but plenty of Skippers, thanks for looking

I have read somewhere that the Monarch population this year went down by nearly 60%. I never heard about what may have caused this. The fact is that I only started seeing Monarch in early July (instead of May/June) I have not see a single Viceroy and only one or two Painted Ladies and Ref Admirals. But several types of Swallowtails.

Overall the variety has been OK.
