I'll soon be retiring my X-S1 for a Nikon P900. Here are some shots recently taken with the Fuji.

By the way, my birthday was on the 12th. I'm 73 worn out years. A year in VietNam, 18 years motorcycle racing, a few years working at Homelite's R&D labs, a couple of years managing and building a Volkswagon engines shop, 20 years sailing and working on boats up to 120 ft. at Hinckley Yacht Services in Portsmouth, RI and Stuart, FL
Belated Happy Birthday, Bill. I'm going to be 72 next month. Not nearly the interesting life you have had, though. I admire your multiple talents. Always was interested in things with motors that moved on land and water, but was never the mechanic you are.

I would be interested in how you coax that kind of quality from the X-S1 - what settings, and what software and techniques are used. By the way, my most used camera is the X-S1 according to my photo library count. The Panasonic FZ1000 is catching it though.
Thanks youngster - here's what I use:

Image quality - F
Film Simulation - V
Color - MID
Sharpness - MID
Highlight Tone - M Soft
Shadow Tone - STD
Noise Reduction - M-High
Film Simulation - Velvia is what makes it pop.

FastStone Image Viewer to clean things up.

And good luck with your P900. I have one I bought refurbed by Nikon, but I have never gotten very good with it, though I see other's photos with one and they are wonderful.
I hope I can make it work.
