Today National Public Radio posted a list of the “100 Greatest Title Tracks Ever Laid Down On Wax” (link provided below), which, for lack of any better ideas, inspired me to dedicate Challenge 208 to music.

Share with us images that you connect to artists, songs, albums, concerts, composers, etc. Feel free to pick one of the 100 tracks. Or not. For instance, post a lighting shot, and say it reminds you of Jackson Browne’s “You Love The Thunder”. Or a fog-shrouded lake and “Smoke on the Water”. No connection is too tenuous. “Green Onion” should be easy.

As usual, be creative and have some fun. We Got The Beat.

Great idea - lots of room for creativity.

I like the list - but notice there are some serious artist omissions. Especially when the headline said "wax".

Maybe I'll try to define and shoot some of those.
Pretty much every list has omissions and undeserving inclusions. Would any two people have the same list? And when was the last time "wax" (or an equivalent) was used in music production? To me, use of the word implies older works. With some exceptions, everything these days is digital and has been for some time. I look forward to your entries and discussion about the music.

As it does for me.

This list was clearly put together by someone who is a generation behind me. It is hard to believe that Elvis, for instance, is omitted.

Edit - though after a little more thought, perhaps they are counting these earlier folks as mostly releasing singles.

For kicks, I looked up the top albums from 1963.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Billboard_200_number-one_albums_of_1963

is good food for thought.

Another good list :

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolling_Stone's_500_Greatest_Songs_of_All_Time

shows 40% are from the 60's.

Top songs with album named after them. Shoo it took a bit of re-reading to get. Great titular songs but of course there are so many more. This should be a fun discussion. My best photos would be old now but maybe a bit of audio caffiene will get a few new ones. Some sneaky dylan video, some ronnie wood paintings, and of course the who. Or a very well done "by accident I assure you" live lil ed and the blues imperials snap.

The most popular contained two comedy albums! Then some Jazz, West Side Story and Andy Williams...it all made me smile and remember that that was, really, a different world.

Maybe like you, "63" was my high school class. Other than Peter Paul & Mary, I must have buying singles at that time.

The best light of the four days that I was in Maine was that first evening. I got some nice pictures of lobster boats in the evening sun. There were still more than five hours before the challenge started, so I put this picture in Exhibition.

Another Exhibition: https://pbase.com/cichallenge/image/170963182

Another title could be "All God's Critters Got a Place in the Choir"...

"Listen to the top where the little birds sing
On the melodies with the high notes ringing"

How many of us does this describe?
