These are lovely and very sharp. You obviously have excellent seeing conditions from your locale. I do see a bit of a greenish tint... i.e. perhaps a bit of a color balance issue? Easily fixed if that’s correct (unless that was your intent).

On the second one ? this one is not from the same place and there was a bit of yellow haze will just try to reduce saturation As you can imagine what you capt from the space is far from ideal light some days

The second one revisited, for me the first one is ok (is it) i aminmy camper and work withe the laptop. Despite calibration its screen is not a photo screen so adjusting colors is not always correct in terms of color space.

Bur i cannot imagine spending several months in the camper without processing and posting photos

many thx for comments

Yes, the first one seems much closer to the mark, though I’m still seeing just the slightest bit of a yellowish tint. I’m working off an iPad, which usually seems to be pretty well spot on in terms of color balance, but as with anything like this, I could just as easily be wrong here. Perhaps others could also comment just to see if there’s any consistency in how we’re all seeing this.

It’s a pretty minor issue regardless and I was hesitatant to even mention it since they’re both excellent renditions.

I don't know about iPad, but my Samsung tablet does not deliver sRGB colors, it is a bit more punchy although "good enough"

Interestingly, the non recognition of the color space used with the photo editor by many devices (phones, tablets) is a (minor) problem.

My laptop is calibrated but still the screen is not as reliable in terms of colors as compared to the color screen of my desktop (96% sRGB)

Very good results Bob, I'm also in a camper viewing on a calibrated 4K laptop and the colors seem fine.

The amount of detail you are pulling is amazing Bob. Do you have air where you live?

Hi Morris

These shots are excellent since I am cheating, they are taken from my Spacelab spatialship...

... now let be a bit serious..

After many years of attempts and really mixed results I found that moon should be shot for best results when the sky is still quite blue to avoid diffraction that occurs later on due to too harsh illumination

Cleaver!

This is what I got the last time I took a photo of the Moon!

Unfortunately the last time there was a total moon eclipse the sky was cloudy in my place... big frustration

I have not seen a lunar eclipse for a long time because of clouds. All of this years astronomical events have been cloudy...

Now we are 20 mile from the center of the cone of uncertainty for Hurricane Isasis.

Adding the starfield back into the picture looks really good at a glance, but after a minute I realize the Moon in this photo would have to be shaped like a rugby ball to see stars where the dark side should be.

The image is great for what it is, but to be really correct the circle of the Moon should be completed in pure black.

Thank you Jerry,

It will be more annoying than dangerous. I've been through many Hurricanes so I know what to expect. Our 100 year old house has been through more than me and it will shake because of the wind yet it's solid and other than some trim coming off and probably some water in our basement which is not finished no real harm will be done. The worst part is usually being kept up by the shaking and noise.
