Still Life with Leaves

Further exploration with a few twigs. This was made this morning. The color version which is posted in another forum probably works slightly better than the B&W.

Slightly better? I think the colour one is a lot better. In black and white I have no idea what the background object is, I decided it must be a picture frame and wondered why you'd put it there. In colour I can see it is a ceramic plate which makes more sense.

I don't think the grass adds anything to either version.

I like the idea of black on black though I'd say it needs more exploration to pull it off.

I think there are two problems, shot selection and aggressive processing. My general rule when doing something very different is to create a finished image and live with it for awhile . I got in a hurry here and it didn't work out.

The second color version shows where I think the image should be heading. The b&w would be somewhat different but not as heavy handed as the original version. The color images are still not quite what I was seeing but closer.
