There where rumors about a Canon ef-m 52mm prime, but really, how would you improve on this.....

This sigma is showing a very impressive performance.

Agree. The rumor says it's an f/2 lens from Canon. If I had to choose again with canon ef-m 52/2 available, It would have to be both quite cheeper and smaller/lighter to start considering it. Otherwise, it's sigma all the way.

I am no bokeh guru and I don't even consider that a mandatory attribute of a good picture... But looking at a few shots I made with ef 50/1.8 and sigma 56/1.4, I think I like the sigma shots more.

I am sure I can easily improve ef 50/1.8 shots in PS.... this is what I did with my 5dm2.

But with m6, ef-m 22/2, sigma 56/1.4 and even the kit ef-m 15-45 I am happy with the OOC jpegs. This is a bit change for me personally.

Hello, could someone tell me how the sigma 56 performs with the M5? I can hardly get sharp pictures with yhe canon 50 1.4 + ring and don t know if it is because of the lens or because of the body.

Maybe the Sigma would be a better option for this body.

If there's one picture showing the downside of a too tight focal length it's this one. Lots of potential, and you definitely made the most of it (ignoring the slightly diagonal horizon which doesn't bother me), but you simply needed wider here if you ask me.
