My Daughter just got that phone too and the camera is cool but let’s see a nice shot of a bird at 800mm....or 200mm for that matter.I pre-ordered one & they were never produced.
They had manufacturing issues with the main board or processor that had to be re-engineered. It pushed delivery at least six months. I always assumed Nikon knew the multi-camera phones were in the pipeline. These items together = Nikon scrapped the idea.
Now that I have an iPhone 11 Pro 13-52mm I sold my last p-n-s. With the AI/computational photography, it is that good.
How would you do it with the DL 18-50?My Daughter just got that phone too and the camera is cool but let’s see a nice shot of a bird at 800mm....or 200mm for that matter.I pre-ordered one & they were never produced.

I wouldn’t, as I answered originally, I would use my V1/FT-1 and a telezoom. How would you do it with the DL 18-50?My Daughter just got that phone too and the camera is cool but let’s see a nice shot of a bird at 800mm....or 200mm for that matter.I pre-ordered one & they were never produced.

That is why I keep my V3 w/ 70-300cx. The two together are a tiny combo that gets me 13-810mm on my walks. Landscapes and wildlife are covered.
Before the new phone, I carried a Canon G7XII and the V3 w/ 70-300cx. Used to have a iPhone 6, that camera was not very good.
Re-read what you wrote. I took it as "How are you going to shoot a 200mm-800mm shot with a phone?"My Daughter just got that phone too and the camera is cool but let’s see a nice shot of a bird at 800mm....or 200mm for that matter.I pre-ordered one & they were never produced.

Wasn't the ^s camera the first big step forward in iphone cameras?Used to have a iPhone 6, that camera was not very good.
It was the first usable phone camera for me, but only good for social media. The 11 Pro is a huge jump forward. Allowed me to sell a Canon G7XII good.Wasn't the ^s camera the first big step forward in iphone cameras?Used to have a iPhone 6, that camera was not very good.
Ha ha, me too! My “small bag” has a V1/6.7-13 + V1/10-100 and SB-N7. My 70-300 AF-P lives on a third V1 and my 4th V1 has either a 10 or a 18.5 on it with the 10-30/30-110 as stand by.Yes its a shame - I would also have bought some of these.
In a strange way ( but without the benefit of a better DL sensor ), I seem to have converted my Nikon 1 ILC's to fixed lens cameras:
the 6.7-13 stays on a J5
the V3 has the cx70-300
I also have a few V1's: one now always has the 30-110 and the others share a 10-30 and a 18.5
Turned out to be a much much cheaper option since all were bought used.

Me three! With so many bodies and lenses now I find that I rarely swap lenses on a body; instead I just grab the other body that has the lens I want at that moment. And I'm now setting up the bodies a little different from each other to better match the subjects and conditions I tend to shoot with a particular lens/camera combo.Ha ha, me too! j5 only - 4k at 15fps onlyDid any of the Nikon 1 bodies shoot 4K continuous? Also are any of the lenses wider than 20mm FF equivalent?
I'd probably buy into a Fuji system, but that's mainly for the colors. I don't have Canon cameras, or the M series would make more sense. In both cases, 4K might be nice; but to me, it's compatibility and long-term usability that's more important. That's where the Nikon 1 system shines!j5 only - 4k at 15fps onlyDid any of the Nikon 1 bodies shoot 4K continuous? Also are any of the lenses wider than 20mm FF equivalent?
6.7-13 gets down to 18mm FF equiv.
In a compact format, m43 is best option for both 4k and UWA - lots of choices there.
