It was getting dark and it was a long hike off that mountain by flashlight, so was in a hurry. Could have used much better settings for detail. Just browsing through old stuff and noticed what is almost certainly a Bald Eagle, indicated by the white arrow.

Would I recommend bringing a small sensor to a landscape shoot? It was actually just a hike, with a camera along

Another view, considerably higher, looking toward the Pacific Ocean.

These were taken shortly after first getting my S1. I'm confident these could have been much improved with optimal settings. As usual though I'll take content over detail and composition any time. I just noticed this last one was a different hike but the same place. Hiked out in the dark that time too. At least it's all down hill!

Those are good photos, and you were fortunate to be in beautiful places when the light was special. I've also had experiences like you described.

Looks like an eagle nest to me.

Usually, I find all sorts of things I did not notice until I looked at the photos on my computer. Since many of the photos are macros, I find lots of bugs and spiders!

Fantastic pictures with your S1 camera!

Yes, often did not see what's captured until get on the computer screen.

I really like the colors you are getting from your S1 camera.

Thanks for sharing & happy snapping.

Cheers!

Thanks John, color is a big reason I stay with Fuji. Since I am red/green color deficient I have to depend on other people or trust that the camera will do the job. The majority of things I've read say Fuji does color well.

And the "Fuji colors" is the reason I'm interested in Fuji cameras.

When in high school science class, we looked at three slight variations of red color yarns.

And I could not tell the differences, teacher says it's genetic, there are some that can't tell the differences.

So for me, I highly depend on the "auto" features of softwares, and rely on the camera's abilities.

Recently, I got interested in b&w pictures from my interests in street photography, so less relying on colors, but need to learn about the shades of gray (grey).

Cheers!

Yes, only someone with the disability could understand. In my young school days a teacher pointed out that in my drawing assignment I had colored the deer green and the grass brown!

Finding out that Photoshop could "color correct" a photo was the only way I was able to get back into photography, after giving up forty years ago. There are many programs that can adjust a photo so people with normal color vision can see what we see. There is nothing that can accurately correct the vision.

Have a great day, Alan

I think they make special glasses now that correct color blindness. Do not know what they are called, sorry.
