With so many varied prices and opinions on the 10D out here I started wondering what is and what isn’t a “good deal” on these cameras. I just picked up two of the 10D bodies, two 1 Gig Sand Disk CF cards, and one 40 Gig Image Tank G2 for a grand total of $3,531.17 and that’s delivered. Have already received the equipment and all is in working order. Now will be picking up two Canon 28-135 IS USM lenses for $872.98 delivered. So the whole package will run $4,404.15 delivered. This represents a $1,274.58 savings over retail because I paid no sales tax at all and was given discounts and combined shipping costs. The equipment was purchased at a major authorized canon dealer, one of the largest in the country, None of this is “gray”, “black”, or “refurb.” So how much did you pay for your 10D? Is this a good deal or what?

Sounds good. If you are a business, legally, you need to pay use tax on your purchases.

I would spend about $200 less overall (delivered) for what you listed.

10d body (x2): $2700 shipped
CF cards (2 x 1 gig sandisk): $422 shipped
G2 (40 gig): $280 shipped
28-135 IS (x2): $818 shipped

Total: $4220

I know another $200 or so could be saved if I was smart with coupons and discounts.

I am not sure why I responded to this thread, but what the hell.

Make that 200-400 more possibly. I forgot it was two bodies.

B&H prices?
2 lenses (28-135) + shiping it's about $815.

You got better prices compared with local retailers but nothing special in my opinion.

--I read you post and wonder - what did you pay? For one body I mean. Its hard to compare when you lump it all together.

I bought my 10D last April for $1500. Since then I've made enough money with it to buy ten more...

Sometimes it doesn't hurt to ask yourself how much your time is worth. Some of these people work so hard at finding the best deal...if they had taken a job at McDonalds and worked there for the same amount of time they spent shopping for a deal on a 10D, they would have been able to afford a 1Ds.

Did you have to sign a secrecy agreement to qualify for this purchase? You joined the forum a couple of hours ago just to inform us of your great buy, but do not tell us the details nor the place you made the purchase. Exactly what is the purpose of your post?
