I believe the EF mount is for Canon cameras. Confusing isn't it?

If the lens is a DC, yes it will crop, otherwise no.

you will need this kind of adaptor to mount it

I’ve seen post that say the EF mount can fit E mount but have crop? So I didn’t know if it was true.

You can adapt EF lenses to e-mount bodies, theres a wide variety of adapters offering differeing degrees of communication. None are 100% reliable,

The A6500 has an APSC sensor so it will crop to APSC, for any lens. If you were using one of Sony's full frame bodies (A7 series) then the camera will crop or not as the user wishes - you can set then to crop automatically with native crop lenses, to crop all the time or not crop at all leaving darl edges when the lens doesn't cover FF.

Are you sure your Sigma lens has a Canon EF mount? What is the description of the lens?

All Sony mirrorless cameras use an E Mount. Some of these lenses are designed for APS-C sensors and some are designed for full frame sensors. The former usually have E in their description whereas the latter have EF in their description. The EF lenses still have an E mount though. An EF lens on an APS-C camera will give the same field of view as an E lens on the same camera (if it has the same focal length).

No the full frame e-mount ones are FE not EF.

Of course, thanks for picking up my seniors moment. I only have three FE lenses!
