Open Invitation .. "Please snap me",

Whenever I don't feel real good ... I jump in the jeep and drive down to the bay .. only about 10 minutes. But the difference i feel just sitting there for a while (and maybe take some pics) is really noticeable. The salt smell and fresh air is just like a tonic to me. Beautiful. Thanks for lookin' in.

You must have been running beside that one!!! LOL

That's a great capture mate!! You really froze that guy in his tracks!!

And a good job on jazzing up the background ~ if ypu hadn't said anything, I never would have known!!!

Way to go mate!!!

It's been so long since I posted a pic .. and I thought you'd all
be sick of Pelicans and Seagulls buuuuuut I saw this guy flyin' in
from out at sea and had time to pick up the camera and focus on him
as he came into the Creek. He was certainly saying "Please snap me"
as he flew right by in front.
The rock wall with oyster shells looked pretty drab as a background
so I tizzied it up just a little.

Aloha Jack,

Love the frozen moment in time. Looks like every feather is ready for action. The background is nice too.

I think it's better to look at them than to have them here. I've heard how "Messy" they can be. Considering that we're in the middle of the Pacific, so to speak, we don't have "flocks" of seabirds in our marinas.
How many shots did you say you took just to get that great one???
With Summer coming on, hopefully your legs will be better.
Take care.

That was a great capture. Glad you didn't choke :) What did you do to "tizzy" up the background?

Karen

Gee whizzzz.....wonderful pelican...I never get tired of birds !!! Keep postin' them, Jackeroo....Pssst...I think I need to learn the art of "tizzying up"....LOL....cathy

Ya gotta give these birds their moment of fame LOL ... Sometimes at the creek it's almost as if they see the camera and decide to fly by just to get a picture taken. So who am I to refuse ? LOL Thanks for lookin'.

No 'choking' ... still a little excited sometimes and forget settings LOL .. I got a nice little PS action that fiddles about with the colours in 'channel mixer'. You can apply it in degrees of 10,20,30,40,50 and 60%. So if you apply say 40% and wanna give it a little more , just do it again at 10% or whatever. Really nice effect on blue water. You can have it iff you want it. I like it even tho I don't use actions very much at all. Hardly ever really but I do like this one. Thanks for your comment on da bird. LOL

You've been very quiet lately ... you been takin' a rest ? LOL .. thanks for your comments mate, I appreciate them very much. Actually I focused on the Pelican from some distance out (guess about 100 ft), then pressed the go button at about 50 feet on sequential shooting mode. I got about 3 shots with the bird in frame including the pic you see. Pretty lucky huh ?

Jack, I don't think any of us get sick of your great bird shots. First of all up here in the GWN we don't have Pelicans and second the Seagulls are just not the same as the ones you post.

This one is just a great capture.

I wouldn't mind having the "tizzying up" action as I love trying anything that will enhance an image.

Just getting back into the forum after our Thanksgiving weekend and trying to go back and catch up with all I have missed.

and thanks for your kind words. The Tizzying up action is what I used on that Pano of yours of the 'Sunken Gardens' ... if I can work out how to get it to you ... its yours .. LOL It's really great on the 'Fall shots' that are being posted by everyone. Not that they need any help, the colours are beautiful, but I'm a bit like you :-) .. just can't help myself !! Thanks again George.

I'm still only on page 3 going back over the posts - I may never get back to where I left off going for Thanksgiving.

I wonder sometimes how much our monitors are off when we view these images. Probably should do some adjustments but heck if I did that I'd probably screw up all the good pictures.

Thanks for the action.
