Can I mount FD lenses on a 'EF lens to MFT body speed booster' with a passive adapter?

I have a Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera 4k (BMPCC 4k) which has Micro Four Thirds (MFT) mount and sensor, and I use a Metabones ultra speed booster (EF mount lens to MFT mount body) to use it with my lens: Sigma 18-35mm. Now I want to use FD lenses. Metabones has speed boosters specifically for FD lenses but they are expensive. However EF to FD adapters are much cheaper. Can I mount an FD lens onto my speed booster with EF mount using a passive adapter? Would there be any complication to consider? I'd prefer to use my speed booster with the FD lens. Thanks!

Hi!

No, you can't. Those mounts (ef/fd) are entirely different of each others. You need dedicaded adapter.

Assuming you have a proper fitting FD to EF adapter, it should work in theory. In practice it depends if there's some protruding part on the back of the FD/EF adapter that prevents mounting it on your EF/MFT speedbooster.

For wide-angle lenses the possibility of increased flex or mechanical play could result in focus difficulties. You'll just have to try it, I guess.
