For pixel peepers...

Here you go.

Left nokton and right summilux...

Have both lenses.

Summilux advantages;

1-Sharper at wide open.

2-Contrastier at wide open.

3-Better color reproduction at wide open especially for skin texture.

4-Tele than nokton, nokton is wider.

5-Better (smoother and creamier) bokeh at wide open.

Nokton advantages

1-Differences may not be significant for some users.

2-Much cheaper.

You may wish to change number one under Nokton advantages to “not significant for most users. :-D

I advise you to look 100% crop ;)

I have the Voigtlander 50mm f1.5 and the 50mm Summilux. Never did a side by side, but the Leica is surely sharper, better micro contrast and better Bokeh.
I compared the Voight f1.5 nocton to a F2 summicron. The Nocton comes close at f2.8, however wider than that the CA becomes apparent compared to the summicron. I have a summilux and nocton, I should fire up a comparison.

Love to see the Summilux comparison and if you do what year Summilux and what camera would be very interesting

I had a 1960's summilux to heavy and not thrilled with the performance so I had sold it

Thanks very much

Lou

I can't see how the images looked like but it's personal preference for what is "better".

Leica glass outperform most others when shooting wide open and under extreme conditions. Most lenses are very good at f/4 f/5.6 these days.
