I've just received my SD H and I'm trying to use it with a Canon 580EX flash. The camera is in manual mode, the flash is in manual mode and turned on however in the Setup Menu Flash is grayed out, and the flash never fires. I have the same problem with the Godox TT350. Would you please help me to find out what I am doing wrong.

As Hanicka has said cover all the connection points except the bigger middle one. No Canon flash will work on a Sigma because the pin layout is the same as canon (almost).
That is good, though, in another way because you can use the Canon off camera Shoe Cord 2 with Sigma's own flashguns with all flashgun functions.
