Has anyone found or written any software for the S100 to make downloading pictures easier? I ordered the SDK from Canon and they screwed it up, I was going to try it myself.

It should just download all the raw JPG's to a folder, or ideally, let you use the camera as a virtual hard drive.

You should have software included with the camera that allows you to download the pictures through the usb port. You can also purchase a card reader which shows up on your computer as another drive. You just remove the compact flash card from the camera put it in the reader and double click on the drive letter in my computer that is assigned to the reader and you can then drag the pictures into a Folder or photo editing program. There are tons of free photo editors out there and the software included with the camera allows you to make some adjustments.

You could give the Cam4You utilities a try.. It's freeware and works with most of the Canon digicams via either serial or USB interfaces. Of course the S100 only has the USB interface, but it works just dandy with that and even allows you to take pictures via remote USB control with the S100.

Like I said, it's freeware so don't expect a lot of spit and polish, just a series of dialog boxes. But it works very well and is quicker and less of a hassle than the Canon Zoombrowser (and it even tells you the transfer speed of the pictures).. Check it out at: http://cam4you.tripod.com/

Thanks, this software isn't too shabby. Much more straightforward than Canon's crap. And it even adds a feature, remote picture taking on a timer.
