We were coming off the 59th St bridge into Manhattan. I was taking a few shots across the bridge but when we were coming down the ramp I put down the camera. As we came around the turn I saw this and was sooo upset that I missed the shot but in a split second decision I whipped the 10D up to my eye and shot as fast as I could. This was the result. I was going to delete it right away but ended up not doing so. When I got home and was downloading I was pleasantly surprised by this fantasy city! Below it is one of the shots that came out like it was supposed to! LOL!

Hope you enjoyed that! LOL!

Warmly,
Lonnit

As I was looking at your nice shots, I noticed your signature photo. I think I had seen it before from one of your posts, but I didn't think much of it. Now I recognized it, I just can't stop laughing on how could I miss that the first time. Sorry, I am slow sometime. ;)

At 8 fps, a 1D can wear out its shutter in 5.2 hours.

It is obvious from this that you are a true 10D addict. Unfortunately there is no cure. You are destined to an eternity in Photoshop heaven. You are commanded to go out into the world and photograph everything you see. Your friends and relatives will soon run when they see you. Your bank account will dwindle to dangerously low levels. On the positive side you will lose weight (not that YOU need to but it has been good for me) as you don't have time (or money) to spend on such non-essentials as eating.

I will pray for you everyday. May the photo gods look down upon us and smile. May they gives us this day our daily quota of photo opportunities. Let it be on earth as it is in our pictures (or vice versa). For thine is the 10D Canon kingdom for ever and ever. Amen.

Life is all about your grandchildren

Tsk, tsk, tsk, don't you know New York has gone nuts and disallows
all photography at bridges? You must be one of those terror types.

(Nice blur effect, by the way.)

Actually, I kinda liked the tilted angle of the shot, it adds more
dynamic to the image. Good picture. :)
Thanks. That's what I thought too.
Lonnit, do you have more examples of your work? I feel you have an
interesting style.
LOL! "Interesting style"? Is that the polite way to say garbage around here? LOL!!!!!!!!

Very interesting shot -- like a photo of a toy city. I like it. You're right; sometimes mistakes come out pretty good.

But what were you trying to do? If it was something you missed, obviously it happened quickly -- so what was it?

Mark

I especially like the bridge shot.

you're not allowed to use cameras on ANY NYC bridge or tunnel anymore, i guess you missed the signs.

and btw - what kind of car do you drive? i'ld like to know so that I can avoid you on my way into NYC, I wouldn't want to disrupt you while you're driving and taking pictures at the same time... not very safe..

Where does it say she was driving?

Interesting pictures Lonnit, I like the bridge shot the most.

you were the passenger and then "never mind" :)

but you should still be careful of using a camera on a bridge in/around NYC, there are signs all over the place saying that they are strictly prohibited...

If you drove the 59th st bridge on a regular basis you'ld be scared too if she was driving :)

lighten up, it was a joke...

Garbage? Hardly! I checked out your other shots and yes, I like them. :) As far as "interesting" goes, it's in reference to good quality, taste, and a uniquely different shooting style. ;-)

By the way, if you two have not met yet, Lonnit, I'd like you to meet Angela Holder (aka, Ziggers). She's another good photographer with another uniquely different style that I like. :)
