I'm attempting to have two custom memory settings for flash work with my Godox/Flashpoint AD200 and AD400PRO on my A7RIV in aperture priority with a manual focus lens. I'd like to use TTL at +2 flash EV on one custom setting and then have a second custom setting with "flash off" instead of manually turning the trigger off and then losing the TTL settings on the trigger. It seems that the "flash off" setting in camera is greyed out and only available in full Auto mode.

How can I select "flash off" in camera or another method to keep the flash from firing with a custom aperture priority or manual setting?

I’ve been using older Sony and Fuji cameras with godox. As far as I understand the. In native flash brands do some kind of workaround to function. The normal settings with flash you have in the Sony menus like fill flash or preflash don’t work with godox. Only Sony’s own brand will. I haven’t been successful in changing flash settings on the camera at all, only the transmitter so I am pessimistic regarding your task. I don’t think it can be done.

We know pre-flash does work with Godox flashes/strobes as that's what people see when they have silent shutter/EFCS turned on and, anyway, that's what TTL flash uses for its metering.

Popping a trigger onto my RX10 IV or A7R III shows that all flash modes other than Auto and Off are available in PASM modes.

So I think you need to re-evaluate what you're doing.

My Godox triggers don't lose their settings when power cycled so I think you're chasing a non-existent problem.

Which Godox trigger are you using? In TTL +2 on my Pro trigger it resets to 0 when power cycled and I have to adjust it again every time

"Off" is the flash mode I need. I am attempting to quickly switch back and forth between flash on (aperture priority TTL +2 or +3 and -2 EV in-camera) and flash off (aperture priority 0 EV in-camera, same settings otherwise)

Currently I need to turn off my Godox Pro trigger between each shot, adjust EV in-camera, take the shot, then turn my Pro trigger back on, set TTL to +2 again, change EV in-camera to 0 again. Is there a better faster solution? Thank you

I tried it on a T2 but will confirm my Pro is the same as soon as there's enough daylight.

And my XPro behaves as expected with its TTL settings preserved over power cycles. I set an extra couple of groups as a test and they're still there now. So it looks like your real problem is a faulty trigger. It might be worth trying a fresh set of batteries before contacting your seller.

Very strange, do you know what firmware your XPro is on? I'm going to see if there are any updates for mine and then look into what else could be causing the issue or if it's faulty. Thank you

It's on V1.2 but this is such a basic function, I don't think it will have changed since the original release. It's certainly not something mentioned in the release notes for V1.1 or V1.2.

Hi I’m new to this forum but have exactly the same question for my a7r iii in combination with the Godox tt685. Did you already figure it out? Can only select “flash off” when camera is set to “auto” in manual mode it’s greyed out.

I still haven't found a solution and 90% of the time if I power cycle the trigger (as a less desirable "solution") I lose my TTL settings and it resets to 0EV. About 10% of the time it maintains my TTL settings (usually 2.0-2.7EV in my case)

I don’t know if this would be a workaround, but have tried the Flashpoint R2 Pro Mark II trigger?

I just recently purchased one, and it has dedicated buttons for each zone. And you can turn them off by double tapping the button. Then double tap to turn it back on. You can do that instead of turning off the whole trigger.

I don’t usually shoot TTL, so I don’t know for sure if your FC will be remembered. But it might be worth looking into.
