**PART 2** This Week Through Your Eyes 2019.11.16

Very nice. The second and the last are superb catches.

Thanks. Sometimes early rising has its advantages.

Andrew
As someone that often has to start the day at 04:30 I have to say I agree.

A few pictures from a very wet Durham Lumiere.

There is a saying where I grew up that if you can see the Lake District then it is going to rain. This is Morecambe bay with the South Lakes in the background, taken from Knott End. The ships in the background are the Isle of Mann / Heysham Ferries and container ships. And if you look carefully, you can just make out Steve Monks on the far peak….no just kidding, he was in the Lake District the day after, when it was raining!

Very effective shots there. I like the first with the cathedral in the background. I have family links with Durham though I have only ever visited once. My brother and sister were born in a house in South Street very close to where your final shot was taken. It's such an iconic view now - though I've never seen a version with such amazing weather - its hard to imagine my mother and her siblings playing there as children.

Nice image. Not the usual view of the Lake District. The large structure on the far left I originally assumed was a building seems to actually be a huge container ship!

I think there are similar sayings about the rain in a few places; In Swansea, if you can see the Mumbles it's going to rain, if you can't it's already raining :-D

Thanks! I felt the blowing sand coupled with the emptiness of the frame and the sole beach walker added to the images haughtiness.

Ha ha, I haven't had a good soaking in the Lake District for quite a while. I must be doing it wrong, although from the look of the forecasts I could get suitably drenched this weekend if I head up there :-)

Andrew, a terrific set! Winter and summer together makes for a nice contrast. Please, do yourself and family a favor and "crank out" a 13x19 of that 1st sunset!
