DxO PhotoLab 3 coming on October 23rd - rumors

When it "comes" hopefully it will have the changes promised for the last version and since but I expect customers will have to pay again!
Not going to happen I think, but let's hope for it. Hope it will be a big update this time. If it is again small update + promised I am out for the time being and will stick with PhotoLab 2.

I am just hoping for a free upgrade...

Now showing

We’ll be back soon!

Sorry for the inconvenience but we’re performing some maintenance at the moment. We’ll be back online shortly!
Funny they should do that in the middle of the day, rather than night.

Yea, the global nature of the web can be pesky that way ;-)

Seriously though, if this is a failed rollover to new content, it's a fairly big fail for the webmaster. Should be a minute long process at the most if going correctly. Let's hope the product coders are better.

Agreed

You don't get many "big" changes in software these days. So if DXO-Pl 2 is doing OK it's a matter of waiting a few upgrade cycles. If DXO-PL 2 is not working for you then it is of to pastures new. Darwin theory of perpetual software :-)

Mu upgrade was free since I purchased Nik/Essential for $99.00 then upgraded to Elite for $69.00. last week. I am happy, now to think about purchasing Filmpack, on trial now. The new features look very nice.

Sounds as if the version 2 updates haven't been included, bit more than last year but as said hardly with upgrade

Just like last year. Adobe gets a hard time because of subscription but people can hardly wait to get their credit cards out for the next DXO version. :-)

I know you have a choice but it is a little entertaining. Same thing happened in a C1 thread last year and I mentioned that to them. I'll probably break down and get PL 3 as well.

Why is that so hard to understand? Yearly cost might be the same (not true: my PhotoLab 3 Elite upgrade is $69 and not $144 what Adobe charges).

But the only thing that matters is that if you don't upgrade PhotoLab 2 will remain fully functional (until you buy an unsupported camera/lens that is) while Lightroom will completely stop working and you lose access to all your edits and work (DAM still works but that is just bandaid).

I don't think people will rush to get their credit card out. It seems like the PhotoLab 2 promised incremental updates have become the new features of PhotoLab 3. Also keywords are not supported in Windows yet (they are on Mac).... in DxO terms this means there is a chance that Windows keywords will be a PhotoLab 4 feature.

Again? I fully understand you can skip and still use it. I get it. Not sure where your numbers come from but it is $120. Not to mention a dozen more apps, DAM and a personal website integrated with LR. The C1 thread was even more intense last year. I liked to giving them jabs too last year. I'm just having a bit of fun.

I bet DXO depends on the annual revenue. I expect there will be pretty high percentage of owners getting the upgrade.

I'm p*ssed that PL does not support the Leica CL, which was not even on the roadmap last time I checked. Until it does, I will not be upgrading.

Probably because Leica isn't shipping one to them (that's what they said on their forum) and they don't have money to buy all the cameras (they almost went bankrupt). Maybe ask them to ship yours to them so they can do the configuration and you get your profile.

That's very puzzling, as PL2 supports other Leica cameras, including recent models, such as the M10, SL and Q. I find it hard to believe that Leica will not send DxO a camera and lenses for building profiles.

No RAW support for Sony DSC-HX95, DSC-HX99 :-x

No DNG support for Apples iPhone XR, XS, XS Max :-x

These RAW/DNG are already supported for some time by the other known programs like PS/LR, C1, ACDSee, SP, ON1 PhotoRAW 2020, Luminar 3.

So I will not upgrade from PL2!
