It's hard to keep up with all the technology theses days, especially with A.I. and processing etc.
Is there a 'consumer' based camera that can take night sky video? [Not timelapse].
I'm not expecting great IQ, but something that, with a bit of planning, clear skies and subject lighting etc, can also show stars or the Milky Way in the background - not to be examined in close-up, but to tell the story.
I recently did a nighttime kayak on a lake in New Zealand, on the West Coast where there is very little light pollution. The nightsky was amazing, especially the way the stars reflected in still the water.
I've done stills with a 5D2 Samyang 24/1.4 combo with middling results, but of course, I can't transfer this to video, not even close. Meanwhile, my friend had a Galaxy (NPI) Note 9 or something, and was able to catch some video of me under torchlight, with a few stars showing in the background.
Just wondering where the technology is at. Is the Sony A7S2 the leader, or is it something with mutlishot computational imaging? Or, are we talking specialized video cameras in the tens of thousands?
