Anything goes in this thread (as long as DPReview's general standards are not violated): any camera; any subject; any post-processing; etc. Recent images you have created in the past week or two are much preferred but not required. Very pretty butterflies! I’ve seen similar ones on camping trips up to Idaho City many years ago. Down where I live all we ever get are the pale yellow butterflies. Rarely a monarch.

Good girl, Bliss! She’s looking very comfortable in the water. ❤️

Who is teaching who? Some guys will use any excuse to go swimming. :-)

Starting off the week with the bad scene, sort of to get it over with.

The annual Perseids have very few windows this year.

(Please read the exif. In case the lens info doesn't translate; I used the higher end, ultra wide angle.)

I'm posting, supra, with an artistique aura, and, in full size dignifying a full framed sensor.

Making lemonade, just in case I can't go swimming. And, please, get out of the water if something like this develops.

Of course C&C is always welcome.

Hope you enjoy.

Just a snapshot. On the way to the bridge. But, instead of veering West, go straight (North;) find Red River Fish Hatchery (trout, big ones), Questa and its molybdenum mines, (friends of mine in the union,) thence North, tour the rest of the "monument." Thence, North to San Luis Valley and the Land Grants, a Military Post, Fort Massachusetts, Fort Garland, thence, points North.

The usual barn swallow nest is good for generations. This nest had been built this year.

the rain held off for long enough for me to use my rx10 mark 4

The Cactus V flash trigger has a socket for triggering studio flashes or the camera itself and a hot shoe. Now imagine triggering a flash in the hot shoe simultaneously with the camera. By the time the shutter opens, the flash will be dark again.

What use is that?

Well, phosphorescent paints need to get "charged" with light.

Thanks! Along a nearby 18th century millrace, there are huge numbers of what I call "butterfly weed" (I'm sure that's not the right name for the plant), and there are countless butterflies attracted to it.

:-) So true, Gary. The rest of the hike as a bit soggy...This worked, BTW. Bliss is now swimming on her own just for fun, like Joy. Her stroke has smoothed-out, too. No more splashing along like a little kid learning to swim.

At my age, what's to lose??

A 30 second exposure? So, THAT'S how you catch the lightening so well. Don't think I could do that here - even up on "my" mountain, there's probably too much ambient light from the nearby towns, etc.

Cooling down is nice. We'd actually had a couple days of decent weather here after the endless heat and humidity.

Still, a little snow is a Good Thing. A small mountain farm on the dead-end road that winds up to my place.
