I really really like the rendering of this baby. Also very sharp stopped down. How does it do in the corners? of course, I don't need one more 100-300 but was very pleasantly surprised.are no longer cool and pleasant. It's hot and sticky out.
Tokina ATX 100-300/4 w\A7ii. Much better stopped down to 5.6+. I believe it's @f8 in this one.
The flare makes it authentic. Our own eyes flare too, it's reminiscent of being there and experiencing the sun nearby. I think it's possible to take a shot without, but the one that's unique and I may remember is this one and it will never repeat.Excellent point! In fact, fill flash might have changed exposure enough to make the flare less relevant. If you could have got the Sun behind the building (perhaps by waiting half an hour or by shooting a little lower), you might have then got better illumination on the faces with fill flash. Or perhaps that's asking too much of a little flash.
This is one of the little downsides to using FF bodies: very few have built-in flash, and a separate flash is bulky enough to rarely make it into my bag....
Super nice rendering. Who makes this Polaris?
This is my favorite lens of all in spite of all the visible aberrations, limitations, etc. It's totally NOT deserving top spot. But it does. I am not sure why. Mine doesn't get that much onion ring. Double check the very edges of the lens rear and front element. Since these are very old and usually not receiving the proper love and attention, and pampering and patting and soft words they deserve, many times they accumulate dust in the very outer edges near the rim. And this exacerbates any onion ring (well, only out ring). If it's not that, then may be differences between the few versions of PF 58 1.4

I had not heard that the 58/1.4 could do soap-bubble-esque bokeh.
I'd tried a 58/1.4 once before on landscape/architecture and wasn't impressed. This time I spent much more time on single-subject/closer objects, and was happier with the results. Does this match up with others' experiences?

I'd been satisfied with On1 and it's been my go-to Lightroom replacement after LR went subscription. But I wasn't happy with it on this pic; the colors look almost posterized, such as on the red flower on the left. So I gave Capture One 12 a try:

- and was much happier with the results. So now I'm left with kind of a dilemma. I much prefer On1's workflow for organizing/culling pics from a shoot, and I somewhat prefer their editing interface. But Capture One's UI code seems solider (less glitchy; On1's UI interaction, controls, etc. aren't as smooth and polished), and I can't deny the difference in results.

I do too - especially when considering how common and fairly low cost it is. I can't think of another fast (for a tele) constant aperture zoom with similar range that can be had for so cheap. I think i paid under 50.00 for mine, with a little fungus that turned out to be removable.I really really like the rendering of this baby. Also very sharp stopped down. Wow that’s a little thin DOF. And people want more??
