Which bag/protective case for GR III

I feel kind of giddy about thumbs-upping a post by eddy1123 that suggests turning my pocket inside out before dropping in the GRIII. :-) I turned my pocket inside out to get the GRIII to begin with, now I'll be doing it every time I go out! Long live the pocket camera!

if you look above there is no contact with the zipper, they're folded away. the clamshell also serves to hide the camera outline in pocket

I don't always use the case and do worry about the paint just rubbing up against jeans. which is why I have the corners taped with gaffers tape

I have a new GR III on the way and am wondering about the GC-9 case - is the interior nice and soft? I assume so. OTOH I have a similar size case for an old Sekonic light meter with a belt loop and a velcro fastening top. I don't think it's leather but it may suffice.

The Ricoh GC-9 case is certainly nice (soft interior) but it is expensive. I actually prefer a case that is made of PU or tough fabric because the GC-9's fine leather can't stand up to regular use.

Lowepro Tahoe CS 20 is definitely worth considering. Lowepro have a good reputation for camera cases and bags. This one takes the GR 111 comfortably and has a separate zipped front pocket that will hold three spare batteries – you'll need them! Fits nicely on your belt. Got mine in black from Amazon UK for £11.95. The case measures 14.3 x 8.8 x 5.3cms and weighs just 56gms. It will also take the GR and GR 11.

Bought today for the GRIII. Fits perfectly and room in the cord pocket for a couple of batteries.

I use a pants pocket. Works great.
So do pocket lint.
Been carrying one in my pocket for years without issue. Why buy a pocket size camera if you are so freaked out by pocket lint that you need to then buy a case so it doesn’t fit in your pocket? Grow a pair and use as intended.
First of all, I have the Ricoh lens hood on my GR11 all the time. I do street photography, and I always have the camera in hand ready to snap and capture a moment. I use the snap mode.

Best regards.

This is one of the best. It offers all-time wrap-around protection which doesn't require one to take it out of a bag. It costs about $130 plus shipping from Japan. The black leather case is currently in high demand and won't be back in stock until mid-May.

This is peculiar. I want a case to protect the LCD and the lens cover, and this protects everything BUT that! It's a beautiful accessory, agreed.
This one is a nice combination:
