Hey guys! So the thing is I'm planning on stepping up to making photography and videography a side career. I now reside in Finland so probably low-light condition would be one of my main work environment. My budget is around $1500 and currently these are my options:

1. a7ii + 28-70 + 85/1.8 (or some FD or M42 lenses)

2. a6500 + 18-105 + sigma 30 (or sigma 16)

3. 6dm2 + 24-70 mk 1

I'm kinda lean towards the second options with the a6500, but still there are some remained thoughts. And as I also do photography, having a ff sensor would be much appreciated compared to an APS-C.

If you could drop any help or recommendation, it would be extremely valuable for me. Thanks for your time guys!

During the film days, I mainly used Canon cameras along with the best lenses Canon made.

I made the switch from film to digital when Canon came out with the 10D camera which was around 16-17 years ago and I've never owned a full frame digital camera because I've never needed (or wanted) one.

Just the same, if someone wants or thinks they need full frame that's up to them and the only reason I'm saying this is so you know I have zero experience with a full frame camera and can't say which of the two full-frame cameras you've mentioned would be best for you.

I do know that when it comes to video Sony is very good and probably better than Canon and from reviews, I've read, the a7ii is an excellent camera.

I've always thought that lenses were much more important than a camera body or the size of a camera's sensor and, with that said, I believe Canon makes some excellent lenses that are better than most of the Sony's offerings so that's something I would consider when choosing a camera.

I realize after rereading this that I haven't said anything that's going to help you :-) so I hope someone with more video and full frame experience will comment on this thread.

Good luck.
