An invitation to all members to dust off your precious glass and head out to take some pictures: the real reason for the existence of all those lenses in the first place.

Please post here your select efforts with adapted lenses.

Here are the guidelines
  • Images with a removable adapter between lens and camera
  • Images with the lens mount permanently modified to fit a different camera
  • Images with the lens held by hand without an adapter (freelensing)
Including metadata (camera, lens, aperture, shutter speed) is encouraged but not required.

I was at my home-from-home again last week, the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir in Baja California, and took these from an outcrop looking east towards the Gulf of California.

Look forward to more great days in the future. We owe that much to those no longer able to share our great days !

are no longer cool and pleasant. It's hot and sticky out.

Tokina ATX 100-300/4 w\A7ii. Wide open, it's fairly glowy here.

Tokina ATX 100-300/4 w\A7ii. Much better stopped down to 5.6+. I believe it's @f8 in this one.

Tokina ATX 100-300/4 w\A7ii. I'm surprised it didn't flare or veil more as I'm facing the sun without a hood. It's close to midday though so the angle is steep.

It's a hot, sunny, day, and seemed a good time for a walk through the University of Kentucky's Arboretum. The topic of Mamiya/Sekor fast fifties came up over the last few days, so I figured I'd limit myself to just the 55mm f/1.4 on my A7RII. It honestly didn't feel very limiting, although I did find myself needing to carefully place my left hand to block flare in some cases. Anyway, here are some minimally tweaked OOC JPEGs from this morning's walk:

I really like this one... a completely unedited OOC JPEG

Wide open @ f/1.4, OOF PSF has a thin bright edge... which I sometimes find distracting

There didn't happen to be a lot of red in the Arboretum today... which is a pitty because reds get nicely intense with this lens.... Still, it was very pleasant using this fast fifty and I didn't feel all that limited by bringing just one lens. It's a good thing to do every so often.

Wonderful images, really like the way you process them. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks. Shadows +30, Whites +50, Blacks -10, Clarity +20, Dehaze +20 (there was some humidity at lower levels), Vibrance +20, Saturation +5, and Sharpening Amount +50.

Alan

Thanks. I like each of them differently, the first for the colors of the rocks, the second for the leading lines, and the last one for the trees in the foreground. I only had a few seconds to compose these, as I was with my kids close to cliffs that fall hundreds of meters, but I'm fairly happy with how they turned out.

Alan

This is superb! It's like a dream.

Very nice. Perhaps a slightly closer square crop might give more intimacy?

Hi, everyone:

Took these from the Staten Island Ferry.

@ f/5.6

Not completely sure about the crop on this one... all I did was a slight rotate to try and get the vertical lines vertical, but maybe removing a bit on the foreground or on the top could be nice? Suggestions for welcome :)

These are really very nice..!!

I love my Mamiya Sekor 55mm f1.8....the color rendering and contrast just seem to put a bit of magic into every shot.

Not as fast as your f1.4 of course, but it is to date, my fave everyday carry lens.
