Hi,

Terrance Malick made a film in 2012 called "To the Wonder".

Here is the link to the opening sequence of the film.

Now according to my research he used a camera by the name of "Digital Harinezumi" to shoot the opening few scenes of the film. (timecode 00:22 till 01:26)

I have that camera with me also. The camera records video in 640x480 pixel AVI format, at 30 frames/second.

Can anyone please guide me as to how they were able to up-convert the footage to play at a normal theatre.

I believe that most theatres nowadays play 2k content at the very least.

Another filmmaker Pam Miras from the Philippines also used it for her full-feature, Pascalina.

Here is the link to it as well.

How did these guys made the film suitable to be projected at a big theatre.

Please Help !

I don't know the exact answer, but I assume they started with reverse-telecine to convert 30 FPS to 24 FPS.

They probably used something like RedGiant's Instant HD (now Instant 4K) or Cinnafilm's Dark Energy for uprezing the footage.
