No, it's the 35mm F1,4 that feels like a toy with its buzzing AF and flimsy aperture ring. Both are good lenses though.

I know Fuji has the colour profiles but do you think the Fuji f2 primes have character?
What is meant by character? How would you define it in a lens?

Surely it is subjective.

I don't know about 'character', all I can say, owning the 16, 23 and 50, is that they each deliver great IQ and each is small, light and tactile. I wouldn't define these attributes as character, just good quality engineering.

The only f/2 Fuji I have is the 90. Its character is "purity", I imagine.

In my experience, the 27 f/2.8 has the most "character" among Fuji primes, if that means quirks like the motor noise and unexpected WB slew to cool in some conditions and such - very lovable for all that, though.

I kind of like the out of focus highlights on the F2 version.

They do if they are attached to the X-Pro 1/2...for which they were built...otherwise I would get the f1.4 versions, which I did.

Kindly define what you mean by "character" in this context?
I guess it’s mostly about the colour signature and rendering that makes Images pop
I have the 23, 35 and 50/2 Fujicrons, and I like how they render - and I very much appreciate that they all have a very similar “look.” I’m hoping the 16/2.8 is the same, because as much as I like my 14/2.8 the output doesn’t fit in well with the other three.
