Hi,

Yesterday I participated to a studio workshop and I experimented tethered shooting with my 5D4 connected via USB 3.0 to a PC on windows 10 with Lightroom CC Classic.

Everything seemed fine until I got home and didn't find any of the images I shot while tethered...

Did I forget to do something ? or is it normal ?

Thanks

Phil

They are on the PC

you can configure wether copy’s should be stored on the memory card while tethering

Thanks,

Do you know where that setting should be set ? In LR or in the camera ??

Thanks
Phil

I might have been wrong, or something has changed in Lightroom, I thought the setting was in Lightroom (CC classic) , but I just checked and could not find the setting, also in the camera menus I couldn't find it. But my camera does save both on memory card and on computer so it must be somehow configurable.

if you tether via EOS Utility I know you can set it.

I am afraid I had things mixed up with other brands of software ( Capture one) and other camera's ( Fujifilm X-T2/3) where things can be specifically configured. However for the combination Lightroom Canon the behavior is supposed to be: store both on camera and on computer. Are you sure your memory card is not faulty? Maybe try again with another card? I found one case where somehow the memory card was the problem

Perhaps you could clarify, did you see the images as you shot? Was it your computer or someone else's that you were using? In Canon DPP, you can designate images to be saved on the computer drive, card or both. In LR, I can't remember because I don't use it anymore. I use Capture One which only writes to the computer or external drive. It sounds like the images are on the computer drive not the CF/SD card.

Thanks everyone, it seems that it must be set one way or another in the EOS Utility software. Since it was not my computer... I had someone else's settings and that caused me a "surprise".
Cheers

Phil
