Price of remote switch?

What the heck does it do besides snap the shutter?! Does it slice and dice, or make julianne fries?? The wired remote for my SONY 717 (oh how I miss that camera) only cost thirty bucks....

I guess I hadnt priced these yet. Now I gotta choose between a remote and a Big Ed.
Anyone know of somewhere with a good price on either the TC-80N3 or
RS-80N3? More to the point, what is a good price?
B&H has it at $129.95 also

My local store sells it for about $159! It's not just a simple push button remote, it's got a digital display on it and you can set the timer to expose from 1 second to 99 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds. I also believe that you can program it to take a photo at interval times... say you want to do elapsed photography of the clouds. Set it up, program the timer to take a photo every 10 minutes or so and you don't have to do anything. This is also programable from 1 second to 99 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds.

I love my TC-80N3... very useful.

Get the BG-ED3 only if you are going to be using the big telephoto zooms (in which case, it serves as a good counterweight, and the camera feels very stable and balanced when handholding). I routinely handhold my 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM only thanks to BG-ED3.

If you're not getting a long telephoto, get the TC-80N3 and a spare battery.

'Cleared to land runway three four left'

Welcome to Europe Eric ;-) you will miss US prices soon.

In Poland 10D body only costs 2600 USD from official Canon distribution.

The sales rep. at huge electronics equipment outlet MediaMarkt said that they did not sell a single unit yet since it ever became available because if someone wants one than imports it from US (just like me).

The EF 28-135 IS lens costs 900 USD here (my friend who is one of high managers at Canon Central Division in Poland is able to have 20% off the price as an emploee ;-)))) and even if he would like to get one there is not a single one left at the central european magazine in Vienna so 6 weeks of wait for it for 900 USD - 20%. Guess what, he ordered one from B&H for 399 USD and it took 3 days to arrive to Poland - motivating, isn't it?

Accually if I buy remote controll I probably buy it here as the shipping would balance the cost difference on smaller accesories.
