My Nikon D850 stacks images with my 105 Af macro but not with my new Nikon 200mm ED IF macro. Incompatible or am I doing something incorrectly? Anybody else having success with this combo? If not, any suggestions for a long macro that will work for my shots of jewelry?

Only works with AF-S lenses.

You can adjust focus manually with the help of focus peaking which will assist in your start and ending points , other then that you can just wing it with the 200/4

Maybe get a macro focusing rail?
According to an article on the Zerene Stacker site, a focusing rail works well for subjects the size of a raisin or smaller and is mediocre for a subject the size of a rose. For a bouquet of flowers sized subject, the rail is awful.

The limitations of the focus rail are due to changes in perspective as the subject distance is varied. I would think that perspective would change less with a 200 mm lens as compared to 50 mm lens.

As previously mentioned in this thread, Helicon Remote and Camranger can work with screw drive lenses. Helicon Tube looks interesting, but I have not tried it.

qDSLR Dashboard might be worth checking out. IIRC it worked fine with that lens on my D810 using a couple of different Android devices...once I understood the qDSLR Dashboard focus stacking settings.
