Hello guys

I am having the following issue when connecting my Lumix LX100 with a Feyiutech G6 plus gimbal: the camera keeps turning off its monitor and viewfinder after 30 seconds of recording video, when connected to the gimbal via wifi, under remote control. the message goes: "monitor display off".

is there anyway to solve this issue? because its impossible to work without monitoring the image.

I think they are not compatible, you need a ZHIYUN CRANE 2

but they actually do connect with each other, through wi-fi, and the app feyiu ON lists LX100 as one of the cameras that may be selected.....

so weird...

Actually I just made an experience: I recorded by Panasonic Image App, and the same problem happened - after 30 seconds the monitor goes off.

So I begin to think its a remote control issue. Does anyone know if there is a way to avoid the monitor going off, under remote control?

I will try and check this out, as when using the Image app I use the iPad as the monitor and I believe the camera monitor does stop displaying. So maybe that is the problem in your initial query, when using a remote it expects the remote control to have a monitor. I may be wrong but seems likely. Hope you get it sorted these operating problems can take a while to understand.

Hi all,

I jave the same exact problem with my GX80 and a Zhiyum Crane M2, did someone find a solution ?

I have exactly the same problem with a Crane M2 and LX15. I've recently updated to firmware version 1.2 hoping this would solve it but it hasn't. Has anyone found a work around? It makes the gimbal remote control feature all but useless,

Not sure would it work. Have you tried to set sleeping time to OFF? It might eat a lot more energy but the camera will not enter economy mode.

Thanks Albert, tried that but no luck! I think it's just a feature of the camera as it assumes you're connected to the Panasonic app and monitoring the view via that. Hopefully updated in a future camera firmware, although looking unlikely at present.

Seems like all I'm doing right now is necroing old threads because no one is talking about this now and it never got resolved.

As far as I can tell, all Lumix cameras have this... let's call it a quirk. With the camera under remote control the rear screen will always shut off after 30 seconds of shooting. There is nothing you can do to prevent this, no settings you can change, and no other way to control your camera with the gimbal.

Currently, the only workable scenario is to use the gimbal purely for stability and control the camera through the Panasonic Image App. This gives you access to camera settings, focus, rec, stop ect ect, as well as the video feed. It's low res and it can be laggy, but apparently this is what Panasonic considers the ideal solution.

Don't expect this to get patched in any kind of firmware update. As far as I can tell the cameras do this by design. Had I known this, I wouldn't have bought a Panasonic.

Amazing the important information you find out the day after your new LX100 II arrives in the mail. Pretty much a deal-breaker. I'm equally as irritated with Zyiyun for listing the LX100 II as fully compatible with the Crane M2. 30-seconds of display is barely usable. So much for the week of research.

I just received this message from Panasonic support after some back and forth.

"Thank you for choosing Panasonic.

We truly apologize for this inconvenience.

We further investigated the situation and did some tests with our products in regards of this situation.

It is true that our camera it is compatible with this specific gimbal, however when using ImageApp for remote control and also using the gimbal , they will create an interference that will trigger the camera to shut off the LCD Screen after a couple of seconds.

Since we do not test our products with some 3rd party devices , we are not able to provide a 100% compatibility with that product , in regards of Wi-Fi connectivity.

Rest assured we took this situation in consideration and it is redirected to the proper department for further evaluation.

We can appreciate any feedback as well , in regards of this inconvenience , and rest assured , it will be sent to the appropriate department for improvement of our products for the future.

We thank you for the patience and understanding.

We wish you a wonderful day.
Stay safe!

Thank you for choosing Panasonic.

Kind regards,
Panasonic Consumer Support."

Well it’s more of a positive reply from, what I assume is, Panasonic North America. Pan Australia just tried the up sell not knowing that the models they recommend also suffer from the same issue. So annoyed that Zhiyun even claim compatibility. I want my money back from both companies.
