Hi from down under (pic)

Well I have finally got a Rebel. It arrived 2 days ago after ordering from the internet, So its about time I said hello to all.

I have been reading this forum for some time now and have found it to be very interesting.

I am upgrading from my first digital camera that I have had for about 3 years now, its an early 1 meg Sony DSC S30. So this is a huge jump for me.

So far there hasnt been much time to spend shooting and there is so much to learn with this camera.

Here is a pic of my puppy. Its the only one I have uploaded so far.
Kit lens, levels and USM. Havnt got the hang of this post processing yet.

Just for info of any locals who are trying to get a 300D they are in stock at Photo Warehouse in Queen Street, Auckland. Arrived today.

Nice shot of your dog, looks like you caught him off guard with that pensive look. Kind of like some candids I have shot of my wife, before she has a chance to cover her face up and shout, "Don't take my picture". Congratulations on your new camera and look forward to seeing Australia through the lens of a DR....robby

How come the dog's not upside-down? This shot IS from Oz, right?

Yea he really hates having his photo taken. Keeps trying to jump up and lick the camera. So I have to catch him when hes not expecting it. Hope to get some more pics up soon.

But the 300D has the automatic rotating sensor, remember ?

Yea z2177199 as you guessed im a Kiwi in New Zealand not an Ozzy.

When you look at the map we are probably further down under than Ozzy is anyway.

Congratulations! Don't read too much of the techno mumbo jumbo on this site or listen to all of the angry people. This is a very good camera and it takes a lot of time to get to know how it works. Enjoy it and you have all the time in the world. Nice looking dog by the way.
