Hi there. I have a Sony a6500 as my primary camera and looking for telephoto lens (primarily for planes spotting). Unfortunately, there is no great native telephoto lenses for APS-C (with native bayonet) and I wanna to buy this one, my question is: Is this lens great in terms of compatibility? I know about focal length multiplication due to sensor size and this is not a problem for me, I'm worry about other things, autofocus for example. Also, silly, but main question, can my camera get the maximum of that lens (or there is some compromises / things that I didn't get)? Because I don't plan switching to FF or change my system, all my other lenses are native (bayonet and APS-C format). Thanks in advice.

e-mount is e-mount. Yes the 70-200 G lens is native. It focuses at a snap, is sharp, well usable on any 6... cameras. Excellent choice.

+1 to uhligfd. But to add that FE mount is E mount. The F means it works on full frame.

Also, don't get caught up in the crop factor (focal length multiplication). 70 mm will look the same whether it's on your 16-70, 18-135, or the FE 70-200.

Another lens you could consider if you want more reach is the 70-300. I have that and love it. It's a little smaller and lighter. But if you want the constant f/4 then get the 70-200. Both lenses are pretty well regarded.

Damn, man, you just save my life because I was wrong about fl multiplications (I thought it's only applicable when I using FF lenses on a crop camera). Just got 70300g, hope I made the right choice.
