Could you offer any help on a couple of extra things with it though on file numbering?

Is it possible to get videos numbered so they merge into the same sequence as stills as they are taken. Currently videos numbered separately and in different folder.

Is it possible to number stills and videos with the data taken rather than just sequential number. (I see from your book how to name folders as dates but not files).

No, the camera can't do that.

No.

For stills, there are utilities that can do batch file renaming that can include date/time. InfranView is a popular utility. Today many use photo management software to catalog their pictures. Files names become less important.

Videos are a bit more complicated as there can a file structure containing the video components. Many people use the metadata within the video to determine capture date and time.

Below is a screenshot showing the file system of the original RX10.

You can see that the last four digits run from 0206 to 0211

Then rename the files using a renaming program. I change MAH0 to DSC0

I don't leave DSC0 on my filenames so back to the renaming program. I change it to identify the camera and the date (RXyrmody).
