That's really very good. The blank monochrome silhouette of the figure contrasted with the glimpse of colourful sky and the complex detail of the buildings, mediated by the solidity of the massive columns - it should be hung on a wall somewhere.

And a man goes around the corner
Whom they call Mack the Knife

And some are in the dark,

and others are in the light.

:-)
greetings

Hans
Hi Hans, great to see you here and even better to receive the accolade of a H.A. ditty.

Hope you are well.

Very best

Thanks very much John. But I can't take too much credit - it was one of those see it, shoot it quick, and it's gone occasions. A bit lucky really.

Thanks. I know one or two people I'd like to do that to!

These are two great photos, thanks for sharing.

Good to see you around dear Mike , and with a quality post indeed :-)

It seems you have covered most of the features that a good photography needs ....

Light and shadow , contrasts , composition and a bit of mystery in the first one :
.......... Rhythm and spacing in the second, very intelligently seen and timed with the architectural background , in fact.
The steady man is the right break (counterpart) to the rest of the walkers .... all in step.

Excellent work , I especially love this one :

Ciao Gianluca,

It's a lovely surprise to see you my friend. Thank you for your kind comments. I'm only sorry I haven't posted some night time shots for you, but I don't have your stamina and would probably fall asleep on the shutter button. :(

Very best

Both are nice shots. I prefer #2 though with the arches. I like that the arches are not centered in the photo. The individual in the arch makes it seem as if he is in a picture frame and removed from the street activities. Well done.

Mike, nice ! Like many of your photos it’s clean and well balanced. It has a symmetry both in use of colour and form. Good stuff.
Thanks very much Paul.

Good to see you. I trust you and yours are well.

Best
Mike
