a friend of mine has a floral design business. he asked me to take some pix. previously had a ps70. missed the flash a few times, but made up for it with the "night scene" mode with flash, the small size and the superior color depth.
pleased with the results. see for yourself.

Hi, Randy:

Nice work, as usual! Congratulations...

Easiest way to get rid of the offending pixel in pic #0347 is to 'clone it out' in Photoshop. Let me know if you need any help with that technique.

It's interesting that this problem didn't show up in pic #0345 which is quite similar except for the use of flash.

Best Regards,

You have a dead pixel at x=520, y=486 I down loaded several of the pics from the link above and it is present on all of them. You can either live with it, or check into getting the camera fixed.

I'm impressed with this information. I am new to the digicam world, and I just ordered an S10. Should I be taking some long exposure pics to hunt for any dead pixels? I'm curious how others have dealt with this problem, if in fact it is a problem. Photoshop seems like an easy fix, but is there some tolerance required of the consumer for this sort of thing? Mr. Westfall's response to the original questions seems to suggest yes. By the way, I very much appreciate his participation in these forums --you are selling cameras Chuck!

hey chuck... thanks.
yup, i know how to clone in ps or psp.... np.

really does not seem like a biog enough deal to take the cam back. only shows up in long exposures.

the prints from the events are unbelievable....

miocrodive works great! took 114 pix last night. was truly never worried about **** space or swapping cards. wish i could say the same about batteries. ;(

Randy, these are the best pics by the S-10 I have ever seen.I think these are even better than those posted by some professional reviewers. And these are all indoor shot.Did you use a manual , daylight white balance setting? Did you use a tripod? Are these images touched or straight out of the camera?
