Wex (UK) have them, or so they say

Although the value on the free options means you wouldn't be buying them...

Could a III be in the offing?
That’s very interesting, thanks for the link. I’ll observe what will gappen the next few days/weeks and maybe pull the trigger. I guess until Brexit actually happens, I can order easily from the UK as well.
PS: I‘d love for a mark 3 to come out, as I‘ll be able to pick up a mark 2 even cheaper, unless they stop to sell it, which I was afraid already happened with amazon.de
Although I think it should be compared with the A7rIII with the 28mm f2, which is a somewhat larger unit (or the smaller 35/2.8), but you get IBIS, EVF, 4k video and other goodies for (in the U.K.) about £50 more before even looking for a discount.
If a III comes along (and it's been rumoured since 2017 so who knows, could be next month, 2020 or never) you might gain some features, but maybe no room for IBIS.

From
https://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Sony-FE-28mm-f-2-Lens.aspx :
"Mounted on a Sony a7R III with Steady Shot enabled, I was able to handhold this lens with a nearly perfect sharpness rate at 1/5 second exposures. Combine an f/2 aperture with a 1/5 second exposure and this lens is ready for very dark conditions. About 50% of my 1/4 second exposures were sharp. At longer exposures, the sharpness rate dropped significantly through 1/3 second, but I have very sharp images captured at exposures as long .8 seconds."

Thanks for your reply. I was considering a similar set-up, but decided that portability and size are crucial features for me here. I don’t have the need to swap lenses, as I have the Fuji system for this. It is small, light, and has very good lenses at a reasonable price to cover me for travel and family photography.
My true passion in photography, however, is street photography, where I found that 35mm suits me best. Therefore, the less professional a camera looks and the smaller a camera is (without compromising on IQ) the better.
Also, I‘ve read almost all reviews on philipreeve and similar sites, and it seems there is no lens that can match the 35/f2 of the Rx1 series in overall IQ, especially the smooth rendering of the background.
If there was a sinilar 35/f2 for the A7-series, I might consider going that route, but at the moment there is none...
